NAPEO CEO Forum - Overview & Key Information

The NAPEO (National Association of Professional Employer Organizations) CEO Forum consists of three or more events that industry CEOs can choose from, ala carte. The first event of this year, held in March, provided the opportunity to learn from Stanford professors and authors in Palo Alto, California. The other two will take place in Washington, DC and Austin, Texas.

Why are there 3 NAPEO CEO Forums?

Each forum has a different focus. The first was Education, and included talks by 3 Stanford University professors and authors. The second is "Evening with a DC Insider," which is a 4-hour forum in which NAPEO CEOs get to ask questions during dinner and drinks. The third is "The CEO Lounge" which is more of an informal meet and greet with other CEOs along with some breakout sessions.

Do you have to be a NAPEO member to attend their CEO forum?

Yes - NAPEO's CEO forums are for the organization's member companies' C-level executives only.

Who are some of the NAPEO CEO Forum speakers?

The Educational Forum featured the following speakers:

  • Margaret Neale - The Adams Distinguished Professor of Management at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Professor Neale spoke on "Five Steps to Better Negotiation."
  • David Demarest - Senior Public Affairs Official at Stanform. David Demarest spoke about the leader's role in reputation management.
  • Jeffrey Pfeffer - The Thomas Dee II Professor of Organizational Behavior at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Professor Pfeffer spoke about the topic of his book, "Dying for a Paycheck."
