Who are Breaking into Startups' hosts & co-founders?

Ruben Harris bought a one-way ticket and arrived in Silicon Valley after 3 years in investment banking in Atlanta. Despite having no coding background he found a job in less than 3 weeks and ended up founding Career Karma and creating and hosting Breaking into Startups.

Twin brothers Artur and Timur Meyster arrived in the U.S. from the Ukraine, middle schoolers who knew no English. They had the advantage, however, of being from a family in which giving in to one's handicaps was not an option. This mindset helped them succeed and land tech jobs in Silicon Valley.

The co-founders' backgrounds and mindset inform every episode of Breaking into Startups; anyone has the capacity to succeed in tech if they combine working hard with curiosity and grit.

Will listening to Breaking into Startups inspire me to make a job change?

It just might - every episode features a story of someone who either had the deck stacked against them or had a career in an entirely different industry but then turned to tech and succeeded. From high school dropouts to professional athletes, Breaking into Startups tells the stories of those who never imagined they could make it in tech, but did.

Ruben Harris opens each episode with the line “Growing up, we’re told that in order to be successful you need to be a banker, a doctor or a lawyer. But that’s what the gatekeepers want you think..." Then the guest's story shows the "gatekeepers" were wrong. Breaking into Startups' featured guests prove that you can follow your own path, work hard, and succeed.
